Hello,

Welcome to Ash & Bumble’s first journal entry! You may be wondering why I am starting a journal after almost three years in business. Well, I thought a journal would be a great way for me to give a preview of upcoming shop updates or collections, reveal Field Notes Club colorways, discuss new colorways & bases (Colorway Gallery, Base Gallery), announce festivals or trunk shows I will be vending at, new yarn shops that are stocking my yarn, etc. I am hoping this journal will allow me to provide important updates in a quick and informative manner.

January 2023 In Stock Preview:

For January’s in stock shop update I ultimately wanted to showcase some of my pink, purple, and red colorways that would be perfect for Valentine’s Day or just to give you something bright & whimsical while we are experiencing mid-winter.

This shop update will consists of four variegated/speckled colorways (three old, one new), five semisolids (two old, three new), sock sets, and a Hummingbird inspired set that I have been dreaming of creating for awhile (I have another set planned for summer :)). I will have the semisolids available on Merino Fingering & a new base that I have been really enjoying - BFL Silk Sock! I introduced the DK variant last fall, which has been quite popular due to its beautiful shine from the 45% Silk while providing structure from the 55% British BFL Wool. I have set aside a few skeins of BFL Silk Sock on one of the new colorways that will be debuting this shop update.

It wouldn’t be an Ash & Bumble shop update without sock sets! I have coordinated four sock sets for January’s update using the colorways featured this month:

However, I am the most excited for The Brilliance of Hummingbirds Set! I have created a few Hummingbird inspired colorways during a few different projects throughout the years (2021 The Brilliance of Birds Monthly Club, 2022 Field Notes Club, and 2022 Birds & Botanicals Holiday Advent Calendar). In order to complete the set I have created two new Hummingbird inspired colorways to bring this copper to light pink set to life.

The hummingbirds featured in this set are: Calliope Hummingbird, Anna’s Hummingbird, Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, Allen’s Hummingbird, and Rufous Hummingbird.

I will have The Brilliance of Hummingbirds set available ready to ship on the 80/20 Sock base in 20g & 50g. If you are unable to grab a set during this shop update, I will be opening Febraury’s Dyed to Order on February 3rd until the 5th. You will be able to pre-order this set on 80/20 Sock, Merino Fingering, or Merino DK in 20g (not available on Merino DK), 50g, and 100g. Each of these colorways will also be individually available across all of my current bases.
